The month of September is a very busy month, why? Well to start with it is my birthday, I can't think of a more important time than the birth of ME!:) Seriously this is a great month with some great things going on locally, in Kansas. First we have a former Marine, so he has to be great right:), Tony Clark who is running 224 miles across Kansas to raise money for The Wounded Warrior Project. Then we have Greg Vaughn who will be running for 12 hours to honor a fallen firefighter on 9-11-10.
On September 9 at 10pm Tony Clark will start his journey across Kansas from the Kansas Nebraska border and finishing at the Kansas Oklahoma border. His goal is to raise $25,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, right now he is only $8000 short of that goal. September 11 Greg Vaughn will start his day at 7am and cover 50 miles to include running The Patriots Run, he will be doing this in honor of John Glaser a fallen firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty May 22 of this year. This my sound like a full days work but that is nothing compared to what he has planned for next year. For details go to

These two gentlemen are the definition of "The Charity Warrior", they endure the struggles of ultrarunning for those men and women that keep us safe and defend our freedom. They sacrifice there time and use their talents to make a difference. I have to be honest here and tell you that I do not know these men personally, only through Face Book and reputation. Hell, they probably don't want someone like me writing about them, too bad guy's it's a free country for now:) So I can't call them friends, though I would be honored to do so, I would just call them peers in the endurance world. Though I am no where equal in ability, I am however an endurance athlete. It is great to see these honorable and selfless men do what they do. Though I don't really know them we do have a kinship in our quest to help others. It is men like these that make me proud to be a Marine, a runner and most important an American. So as we go throughout our day enjoying our GOD given freedoms take a moment and checkout their websites. They are making a difference and so can you. Donate!!
Tony and Greg, if your out there, good luck with your endeavors and GOD BLESS!!
NEVER STOP RUNNING!!
